Waiting on Wednesday: The Map of Time by Felix J. Palma

Jill over at Breaking the Spine started this and I believe that it’s awesome” This blog post is to alert those that visit about “the” book that we cannot wait to get our hands on.

This book cover caught my eye because It reminded me so much of The Immortal Instrument series and then once I read the snyopsis I was more than intrigued, that is why it is my WOW choice for this week. Beautiful cover, amazing concept. I’m there.

Published to massive acclaim in Spain, Félix J. Palma’s rollicking page-turner boasts a cast of real and imagined literary characters and cunning intertwined plots, as a skeptical H.G. Wells becomes a time-traveling investigator in Victorian London.

Jack the Ripper, Allan Quartermain, Dracula author Bram Stoker, the Elephant Man, and Jules Verne are among the players in Félix J. Palma’s captivating and ambitious novel. To save innocent lives—including that of his own wife—H. G. Wells the author of The Time Machine must discover the truth about purported incidents of time travel. The mysteries involve an aristocrat in love with a murdered prostitute from the past; a woman bent on fleeing the strictures of Victorian society by searching for her lover somewhere in the future; and a fourth-dimensional plot to murder celebrated authors in order to steal their fictional creations.

Awarded the 2008 XL Ateneo de Sevilla Novela Prize and lauded as “a miracle from beginning to end…a masterpiece” ( Qué Leer ) on its original publication , The Map of Time is an audacious historical fantasy executed with uncommon skill. It is a story full of love, adventure, and extraordinary imagination.

Every ghost has a story to tell

The last place Tansy Piper wants to be is stuck in Cedar Canyon, Texas, in the middle of nowhere, with a bunch of small-town kids. But when her mother decides to move to the desolate West Texas town, Tansy has no choice but to go along. Once there, Tansy is immediately drawn to the turret of their rickety old house, a place she soon learns has a disturbing history. But its the strange artifacts she finds in the cellar–a pocket watch, a journal of poetry, and a tiny crystal–that have the most chilling impact on her.

Tansy soon finds that through the lens of her camera, she can become part of a surreal black-and-white world where her life is intertwined with that of mysterious, troubled Henry, who lived in the same house and died decades earlier. It seems their lives are linked by fate and the artifacts she found, but as Tansy begins spending more and more time in the past, her present world starts to fade away. Tansy must untangle herself from Henry’s dangerous reality– before she loses touch with her own life forever.

Sneak A Peek Saturday: City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra clare

Sneak a Peek Saturday is a feature that lets you “peek” into an upcoming book. Sometimes it is a chapter or two and maybe less, either way it is an amazing opportunity that I enjoy sharing.

This week I have the extreme pleasure of showcasing CITY OF FALLEN ANGELS by Cassandra Clare. I am torn about this new trilogy series because I adored CITY OF GLASS and was very happy with the ending, but how can I deny myself the undoubtedly wondrous pleasure of Cassandra’s newest endeavour. I cannot, so here I am deep in the wants for this new book that will come out next month. For those that have not read the first chapter, here is your chance.

Just click on the book cover and enjoy.

CITY OF GLASS by Cassandra Clare

Who will fall in love, and who will find their relationship torn apart?

Who will betray everything they ever believed in?

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge.

In the heart-pounding fourth installment of the Mortal Instruments series, the stakes are higher than ever.

The last few weeks in the book blogosphere world have been a bit disheartening, so I wanted to lighten things up and have fun. Next week I am going to have a few days of surprises set for everyone that enjoys books (reading, blogging, reviewing), you name it. It will be short and sweet but I hope everyone has fun.

But her fresh start at Blackwood Academy doesn’t go as planned. Just as Ash is beginning to enjoy the perks of her new school—being captain of the tennis team, a steamy romance with a hot, local park ranger—Ash discovers that a group of gods and goddesses have mysteriously enrolled at Blackwood…and she’s one of them. To make matters worse, Eve has resurfaced to haunt Ash, and she’s got some strange abilities of her own. With a war between the gods looming over campus, Ash must master the new fire smoldering within before she clashes with her sister one more time… And when warm and cold fronts collide, there’s guaranteed to be a storm.

>Waiting on Wednesday: MONSTER HIGH: The Ghoul Next Door

>Jill over at Breaking the Spine started this and I believe that it’s awesome” This blog post is to alert those that visit about “the” book that we cannot wait to get our hands on.

I adored Monster High and could not believe how it ended on such a cliff hanger…Yikes!! So you can imagine my joy at seeing the new cover and reading the synopsis for MONSTER HIGH: The Ghoul Next Door. Squeeeeeee!!!

Cleopatra de Nile: New pet snake
Has Deuce-the hottest guy in school-wrapped
Herve Leger bandage dress, strappy gold platforms Cleo was the queen bee of the RADs, the normies, and everyone in between at Merston High. But now it’s “Frankie this” and “Melody that” . . . these new girls sure know how to get her lashes in a tangle. When Cleo lands a Golden Teen Vogue photo opp for her friends everything seems to be back on track…until they bail to be in some film . . . Frankie and Melody’s film! Can’t a royal get some loyal?
Frankie Stein:
Frankie lost her head over Brett once and vows never to do it again. Not that she has a choice. Bekka is clinging to her guy like saran. But when Brett comes up with a plan that could help the RADS live freely, sparks fly. And Bekka will stop at nothing to put out their flames. Even if it means destroying the entire monster community.

The clock is tick-tick-ticking away. Melody has a serious deadline to save her boyfriend, Jackson, from being exposed by the vengeance-seeking Bekka. But Cleo is making it royally difficult for the normie while threatening her acceptance into their exclusive group. A group that melody suspects she has more in common with than she even thought.
